Cinematic Details: The Macro Lens for HERO13

The GoPro HERO13 Macro lens significantly expands creative possibilities for B-roll, the supplementary footage essential for enriching a diving vacation edit.
The camera automatically detects the lens upon installation, activating the specific mode and reverting to standard settings when removed. Its distinctive feature lies in its focusing capability, which is four times closer than the standard lens; thanks to the integrated focus ring, the focal point can be manually adjusted from 11 cm to 75 cm.
Furthermore, it features Focus Peaking, a visual aid that highlights the in-focus areas of the image in red on the display. This function is crucial because, when working with an extremely shallow depth of field, maximum precision is required to avoid blurry footage.
Although waterproof, the lens is not designed for underwater use; however, it captures high-impact close-ups on the surface, ideal for detailed B-roll with a distinctively cinematic touch.

In the demonstration video, which focuses on details of exiting the water, the following settings were used:
5.3K 16:9 60fps | AWB Auto | Natural Color | ISO Max 100 | EV -0.5 | Bitrate 180 Mb/s | NR01=1 | WIDE=1.
In addition to the high level of detail, these settings allow the Bokeh effect to be appreciated. This term defines the aesthetic quality of the out-of-focus areas achieved by reducing the depth of field: a highly sought-after feature that isolates the main subject, separating it from the background. The result adds three-dimensionality to the scene, eliminates visual distractions, and ensures a professional aesthetic.
