The system works by limiting the shutter speed to values synchronized with these frequencies, preventing the phenomenon from appearing in the video as a constant pulse in brightness or as horizontal stripes (banding) across the image. A bug in the GoPro HERO13 occurs when the antiflicker system interferes with the shutter adjustment. In conditions of bright sunlight and low ISO, the camera attempts to lock the shutter speed at fixed values to avoid non-existent flickering, causing abrupt and jerky brightness shifts in the footage instead of a natural transition.
